..a page from my journal

Just a simple page from my journal to herald the arrival of Spring!!

I just stamped several flowery stamps across the bottom of the page.

I have been practising with my dip pens and wrote this old chinese proverb....

Made me happy anyway............

Playing with Modroc

Great topic over at Paperartsy, Liquid Sculpting Medium.

Having seen the post by Julie Ann Lee, I was inspired to come up with this..

I started with the reverse side of a small canvas and glued on the shaving brush and painting with gesso. After this was dry I cut up strips of Modroc, soaked in water, screwed them up and attached them onto the canvas.

After allowing to dry, I painted the canvas using Fresco chalk paint in Slate. I was going to paint the 'shaving foam' in white, but I wanted to have a little fun, so I painted using Beach Hut Fresco paint. I also added some colour to the shaving brush. The little duck just sat in the corner, he likes it there!!!

I would like to say a big thank you to Julie Ann, after reading her post I was inspired to create this. I now know how to use Modroc!!

Art Doll Assemblage

Interesting topic on the PaperArtsy blog, Art Dolls.

I was inspired by Darcy's intro to the subject, So I found some salvaged items..

A couple of old door hinges, rusty nails and a lock mechanism...

So I came up with this..

I painted all of the parts with white gesso, after this was dry I painted with Fresco Chalk Paints in Beach Hut and Limelight.

After finding a scrap off wood, I painted with Slate Fresco Chalk Paint and glued all of the parts onto it.

Great fun, just need a way to hang it!!

Red is the colour..

Red is the colour over at Indigo Blu,

http://indigoblublogchallenge.blogspot.bg/2016/02/february-challenge-red-is-colour.html

Here is my take..

Using a MDF tag, I painted it with Indigo Blu metallic paint in Ruby Slippers. Once dry I stamped using Baby Aloysius with black archival. Whilst this was still wet I managed to sprinkle some Wow embossing powder in Platinum and heat embossed.

I was really lucky just to cover the crown!!

Years ago I bought some dip pens, only used them a few times and gave up, but recently I started to really practice. Really pleased how I have progressed and enjoyed writing the tag.

Great fun..

Reclaimed Mixed Media

I have lots of old wood from when our roof was replaced, so I wanted to make some wall art.

So I came up with this. I cut off some lengths, about 1 to 3" in length.

I used some Gelli Prints that I previously made and used several techniques of inking stamping heat embossing, and to finish off a model sheep!!

Next time I will cut off more sections and make a larger one...
