Squares and Grids...

The current challenge is Squares and Grids over at the Paperartsy blog this fortnight.

I was inspired to create this after seeing Alison Hall's post, her abstract panel with geometric elements. My project ideas came to mind after I had read through Alison's post.

I started with some packaging from an embossing folder. I covered this in kitchen foil, I used Fresco's in Inky Pool. I love the effect as this colour is translucent you can still see some of the foil. I added some splats and drips with Fresco's in Caribbean Sea.

My geometric elements were created using some off cuts of grey board. I used Fresco's Slate Grey to create the frames. The other boards were painted with Fresco's Caribbean Sea. I stamped using Hot Picks 1501 and Mini 28.

The largest element, I painted with Caribbean Sea and applied some Vaseline. I painted some Inky Pool, and rubbed back to reveal the base layer. I wanted another colour in my project, so I added some Orange Rayon thread underneath.

When I glued all the elements in place, I noticed that the drips I had created were dripping side wards!!!. Never mind, I like the effect..

I like the overall effect of this project, the foil background looks different in daylight and night time.
