Altered Art

I was very pleased and proud to receive an email from one of my friends Irena Stefanova this week asking if I would like to be a Guest Designer over on the Kartishok Mix Media Blog.

I have been saving some coffee cans and storing my brushes, pens and mark making tools but have not got around to altering them.

So I came up with this for storing some of my mark making tools!!

My coffee can first had 2 coats of black gesso, the a coat of Pebeo Dyna paint in Silver. I wanted a metallic effect.

I then played and added more colours from the Pebeo Dyna paint range in blue green, green and green blue!! I found these die cuts so glued into position and added some Pebeo Guilding wax also in silver.

The words were written with a Zig marker and the background I used some colouring pencils.

Fun and useful project, perfect for storing some of my collection of mark making tools.

Thanks for stopping by, have a creative week!!!

Changing Seasons

Very proud today as I have another project over on the PaperArtsy blog.

My inspiration came from a view from our house. Our village is situated within a 'basin' and surrounded by fields. This is one of the views.

I have often wanted to capture this in some form of art. When I saw the new releases by Lin brown, my fave was ELB34. I wanted to use the leaf stamp as my 'trees' and the rest of the set for the foliage etc as you work your way down the landscape.

I wanted to use this old bit of wood as it has great dimention. I used Grunge Paste and smeared it onto the wood and sprinkled on some In The Navy Infusions. With a wet kitchen scourer made some marks and swirls into the paste.

I have displayed this in between 2 rooms, so when you walk one way you see spring first, when you walk back winter is in view.

This is my fave bit, you have to lift the flap to see autumn!!. The pieces of wood where whittled from a cherry branch.

Winter, love the feel of the cold with the clear embossing on the leaf..

I had great fun creating this, looking forward to my next post!!!

Wall Hanging.

I have made this using some scrap wood, all the sections were hand cut.

Each section was painted with white Gesso, I used the Sillouette Grasses stamp set from Chocolate Baroque and stamped onto tissue paper. Whilst the matt medium was still wet I sprinkled on some Brusho crystals in Lemon and Yellow.

I also added some chalk paints in grey, love the colour scheme.

Funky piece of wall art, great fun!!!

Fly...

Found this great challenge blog here in Bulgaria.

This month they have a challenge called Fly.

Here is my make..

I painted some wood with some white Gesso, and sprinkled on some Brusho Powders in Lime Green and Sea Green. Spritzed with some water and allowed to dry. The moth is made from scrap fabric, and his body is some wound up wool. Antennea is some copper wire.

Die cut letters and painted with some gold paint.
