Mixed Media Assemblage Face..

This is my attempt at assemblage face. All created onto scraps of wood.

This eye came to life by using one of the texture stamps from the Sheena range, looks just like an eye!!

The nose part was painted using  Pebeo Dyna paints in Bronze, I used a mark making tool to create the circles using the same range of paint in blue.

The mouth section comprises of a cut out from a magazine, and the crackle paint is from Deco Art Media.

This eye was made on a Tim Holtz fragment glass tile. I used Pebeo Gold lining medium to create the outline, a white sharpie pen and the blue is some nail polish!!

Great fun, love creating these small assemblages!!!

In The Garden...

In the Garden, is the theme on the Clarity Stamp Challenge this month.

I started off by making several Gelli Plate prints with the Clarity Stencil. I decided to choose the print that I made to use the spare paint that was on the stencil!!

On one of the spare prints, I stamped the letters to make the word Garden!

On a separate piece of card, I brayered on some Indigo Blu Hot Cocoa acrylic paint and stamped randomly the Clarity Dragonfly stamp. You can see this in the picture below.

I glued into position the letters and layered it all together.

Great fun, looks kind of Autumny!

Beads, Charms and Dangles..

Beads, Charms and Dangles are the theme this fortnight on the
Paperartsy blog.

Here is my take on this...

I started off with 5 strips of paper, the first 3 I sprinkled on some Infusions in Royal Blood. With a small blob of Fresco paint in Caribbean Sea, I dipped in my finger and rubbed over the paper.

With these 2 other strips, I used Infusions in A Bit Jaded with some Caribbean Sea and a small amount of Limelight.

I stamped using a stamp from Backgrounds Plate 2.

All were then rolled up into beads.

With some cord I fed these through pulling tight to keep secure.

Lastly, another view...

Brayering with Gesso, PaperArtsy Infusions etc...

Been having fun with the brayer, Gesso and Paperartsy Infusions,

This one started off with a layer of Black Gesso, then layer of white gesso and Paperartsy Infusions in Blackcurrant

I started off by using a dip pen and made some marks, I brayered over some white gesso, this made the ink run a little, but I like the effect..

A layer of white gesso, added Infusions in A Bit Jaded and Blackcurrant onto the glass mat and carried on brayering..

Lastly, white gesso and Black Knight Infusions..

Pattern Fun!!!

New challenge over on the PaperArtsy blog this fortnight, being Patterns.

Here is my take on the challenge...

I started off with some cardstock and using Backgrounds Plate 2, stamped the script stamp randomly.

I then brayered over some Caribbean Sea Fresco Chalk paint..

I spritzed on some water and sprinkled over some Infusions in Royal Blood and left overnight to dry..

I made up to an inky consistency some Fresco Paint in Bougainvillia, and used this with a dip pen to create my pattern...

Final pic after drying..

Great fun, really liked using my dip pen with the Fresco's, yet another use!!!

Brayering with Paints...

I have'nt used my brayer for some time, and only really used it for applying inks to paper and on the Gelli Plate, so I thought I would try with some paint onto some reclaimed wood.

This is the result of my playing, I started by brayering on some white gesso, and when dry brayered on a mixture of Pebeo Matt paint called Garnet Red and Gloss called Swimming Pool.

I liked the effect, and decided to stamp the circles using a free stamp from a recent PaperArtsy purchase with Fresco Chalk paint called Caribbean Sea.

Enjoyed my experimenting!!!

Colour Mixing with Fresco Chalk Paints...

PaperArtsy have a great challenge this fortnight, Colour Mixing. I was inspired by Darcy and the informative post.

This is my creation...

I have never mixed any of my Fresco Chalk Paints to make different colours, so on a glass mat I stated with a blob of Bouganvilla, Beach Hut and Caribbean Sea.

With a painting knife, I just mixed Bouganvilla and Beach Hut.

I sprayed water on the mat and dragged some cardstock through it, There was enough paint to do 3 masterboards to play with.

On some seperate card, I stamped the image from Ink and The Dog Letters Plate 5 with Versafine Deep Lagoon. I like mark making, so one of my cockerals left a feather near the gate. I dipped this into a small blob of Caribbean Sea and drew some circles.

With a small amount of Beach Hut that was watered down, I brayered this over the image.

I cut to various lengths some reclaimed wood, cut out sections and glued into place.

All of the pieces were then glued together.

I decided only to decorate the front of each piece as I did'nt want to loose the effect of the wood. Really enjoyed colour mixing, will try again!!!
