I had an idea to create a long waterfall onto some parchment. This was a big mistake trying to plan something. I carried on, and concentrated on practicing some more stitching!!
I took a naked flame to the parchment, love this effect. Even though it didn't work out as I planned, I am glad I continued with it.
.. aesthetically described as one of beauty that is 'imperfect', 'impermanent' and 'incomplete'.

Fabric Collage Pouch.
In my bit box, found lots of calico that I dyed with PaperArtsy Infusions powders and Fresco Chalk paints last year. Some pieces I added some texture pastes as well.
I needed a storage solution for some of my mark making tools, so I had this vision of making a pouch type of thing.
Enjoyed hand stitching with different fibres to patch all together, a bit ramshackle, but does serve a purpose!!
Great fun.
Last of the snow from Beast from the East, this batch came with an orange tinge, sand from the Sahara????

Paper and Fabric Collage
Exploring some stitching 'patterns' and different colour threads, this seems to be coming out of the darkness!! Found it really challenging to be random at the bottom, keep practicing.
Old book pages coloured with Distress Oxide Black Soot, and some fabric that was dyed with PaperArtsy Infusions Black Knight.

Nautical Colours with Lynne Perrella Stamps.
I am on the PaperArtsy blog today with a project using Lynne Perella Stamps.
I made up some masterboards to use for my background.
Funny how things turn out and change, initially I used the blue and red ones but they did not work out, so I used the dark blue one. This is rice paper dyed with Infusions In The Navy. Love the variance of the colour.
Stamped several of the images onto packaging materials. Love the 'double exposure' feel of the main image and crowns.
Added some layers behind the substrate.
Enjoyed creating with Lynne's stamps, love all of the detail. Great fun stamping onto packing materials.

Paper Collage Spring Into Action.
Came across the That's Crafty Challenge Blog. This month the challenge is Spring Into Action.
I found some packing materials I have been saving and a book page from a damaged book, aptly called Spring. Daffodils herald the beginnings of the new year for me, everything to look forward to!
The stamp is from Chocolate Baroque, love the line work, reminds me of the old illustrations from old books.
Stitching I find very relaxing and mindful, I used some variegated thread in greens and my favourite lime green thread. Kantha or Boro style running stitch. Love the surface texture that is created with threads.
Distress Oxides in Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron act really well on the packing papers.
Great fun, make some time to join in!!!

Paper Collage with Boro Repair Stitching!
Whilst researching some examples
of Kantha Stitching, I came
across some examples of Boro
repair stitching.
This inspired me to have a play with
some painted brown packaging.
Found this Chinese Lantern flower still on
the plant, loved how some of the
orange colour remained..
Love the surface textures that are created
by tearing
Till next time!!

Stamping Collage.
Experimenting with a stamping collage. No layers, just built up some stamping from my collection.
Like this effect, going to try and stamp onto some layers and try this also, see what happens!!

Post Card Paper Collage
This month on the Countryview Crafts challenge blog, Sue has chosen the theme of Postcards.
Here is my take on this..
From my bit box I stamped using PaperArtsy mini's 19,26 and 44. I also stamped using some of the images from PaperArtsy Lynne Perrella Collection 007. They were arranged onto a Postcard size piece of card.
I remember Andy Skinner saying you could use the DecoArt Media over a coat of Ultra Matt varnish, so I used several layers of Paynes Grey, Burnt Umber and Quadricone Red.
Enjoyed making this collage, off to make some more!!

Infusions Hare!!
This fortnight the topic is Whimsy, over on the Paperartsy Blog.
I made this Hare in a patchwork style!!
I dyed some calico with Infusions In The Navy and Rusty Car. With some copier paper I cut out a 'head' shape along with some ears.
I cut up the head into 4 and hand stitched together, I saw a patchwork cushion recently where all the seams were on the outside, liked the raggedy look!!
His eye and moustache are from some calico that I dyed last year with Infusions Blackcurrant. All stitched together. Rather pleased with him, glad Darcy provided a dictionary meaning, he certainly is odd, without explanation, nonsense!!!

Mixed Media Collage.
Found some old packaging and added some of my photography and collage elements. The photo is an abandoned derelict building in my village, the old bakery.
The barcode is from a bag of flour, the designer has added some wheat stalks on the end!!

Paper Collage.
Having a play with some new stamps from IndigoBlu called The Draughtsman.
I enjoyed this, going to try a different colourway. Not totally happy with this, like the colours but think the layers behind the picture might be too big. Off to experiment!!
